Question about Jaheira... (spoilers?)

I've finished a couple of her quests, killed that group of Harpers that wanted to imprison charname and avoided a fight with that other Harper group. I want to put Jaheira's quests on hold for a bit and take someone else but she seems to have an emotional breakdown and perma-leaves if I remove her from the group.

Is there any way to just tell her to sit in the corner for a while so I can pick her up again later?

I believe Jaheira's romance ends by default if you remove her from the party. I think the romance cheats component of the BG Tweaks mod fixes this.

Alternatively, iirc you eventually reach a point in Jaheira's romance where you need to sleep outdoors to make it progress. Just avoid doing that and it will essentially be on hold.

@Shin Nothing to do with the romance, as I'm playing a female character,

Oh, right. Well I believe the romance just changes the pacing a bit. If so, I guess you'll just have to wait until the point where her plot won't progress by itself. You're sure she perma-leaves if you drop her? Iirc she usually waits outside the Harper headquarters.

Yeah :/ she mentions something about not being able to go back to the Harper's and that she doubts we'll ever meet again. I tried removing her and checking the Harper area and she wasn't there.

Oh right.. I think it's because at this point she's obviously not on good terms with the Harpers. Mods like SCS have components where you can send NPCs to inns when you drop them from the party, but no such luck in vanilla. If you really want her out I suppose you could drop her and then later use the console to spawn her again and edit her exp, but can't guarantee that won't mess with her questline.

Is it much further until I could drop her without her disappearing?

Don't know actually. Things eventually turn around, but not sure if/when her reaction to getting dropped changes.

Well, thanks anyways. Kind of a bummer that I can't just tell her to hang out at the Coronet for a while. I don't want to rush quests but I guess I'll have to with her. She's kind of messing up my group comp right now

You can leave her in Coronet just fine. All you need to do is to lock her inside a backroom and kick her out. She can never approach you and the prompt for leaving cannot trigger. The side effect is you cant save inside Coronet, a minor inconvenience. The same trick works on Mazzy when she said she would return to Trademeet.

Yeah there reaches a point in her storyline where if you boot Jahiera she is gone for good.

But the solution that @bbear offers works most of the time.

Yeah she'll totally leave. In fairness she has essentially abandoned her faction - therefore her family - and forsaken her principles for your protagonist. For the protagonist to then turn around and be like "I have other stuff to be at, byeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" must be pretty fricking hurtful considering how much she has given up in camaraderie.

If you were intending to replace Jaheira anyway, you can just let her go - the Fate Spirit will allow you to call her back in ToB anyway.
