[NEERA] Cannot enter Red Wizard lair in Waukeen's Promenade

After going to the Wild Mage camp after the Red Mage attack, I went straight to Waukeen's to complete the quest. As soon as I tried to enter the Red Wizard lair the game crashed to desktop. This happened every time I tried to enter. I have several mods, but they are all compatible and installed in the order recommended in the mod discussion.

Any ideas?

    So, I tried it a few more times and it eventually worked - took about 10 seconds to load, and I couldn't click as it did, but it eventually loaded. Unfortunately, during dispatching the female wizard leading the enclave, Hexxat was killed but didn't drop her equipment. When I rested, she briefly resurrected, then died again and became a cloud of mist. Which she remained through many rests. Sigh. I assume this is a normal bug and there's some sort of workaround?

    If you have mods installed then the first thing you should do is uninstall them and see if the problem goes away. Compatible mods installed correctly can still have bugs, and knowing whether this is a mod bug or a game bug is the first and most important step to fixing it. If the problem persists even after uninstalling all your mods then post a copy of your game, saved before you enter the Red Wizard lair (or even before Hexxat was killed, if you have that).
