How do I speed up Jan Jensen's quest ?

I just got him, I want to do his quest and dump him, but I don't want to drag him along for 15 days or abuse rest. Can I change some variable in the savegame to shorten the wait ?

I see in EE Keeper there is a variable JANJOINED = 4920000

Setting the variable JANJOINED to a much lower value (e.g. 1) should do the trick.

Iirc you also don't need to have him in the party the entire time. Pick Jan up for awhile, drop him off, go do some other quests/traveling and then go back to him. I've found that it often triggers the quest start as soon as you switch zones.

Why wouldn't you want Jan around? I'm confused by your post, which reminds me of a post made by my great uncle Tamblin. Tamblin often posted multiple times a day, though this was before the internet and thus was a more complicated process involving various berries and a pointy stick. All that is beside the point however, which is how uncle Tamblin posted, beside the point of his stick. His most famous post of course had to do with his trip to the Gnoll stronghold to save a young magic user, unfortunately he arrived too late as someone named CHARNAME had already saved said magic user....
