I personally think bringing Bodhi of all creatures you fight back to life is impossible. Tell me how a being that does not have a soul that has been killed can come back to life?

So i'm just curious. if it was/is possible, would you like to see Bodhi return for ToB in a manner similar Seravok? Not just at the end of the game like in Ascension , but for the entirety of the expansion. Just FYI this has nothing to do with hexxat or "oh my god vampire npc " I personally think Bodhi is in interesting Character that had a intriguing back story that could be explored alot more. Anyway, thoughts?

@GemHound Simple, wish spell, and act of demonic forces, shear force of will. i men heck you kill seravok over and over again and in hell too and yet he comes back. all you need is a bit of creativity.

@Baxyratty Sarevok is different. It is possible to bring him back once since he HAS a soul. Bodhi does not.

Nooo.. no Bodhi comeback. Hexxat has effectively made any point in bringing Bodhi back quite moot.

If anything it'd be funny to see Firekrag return as a dragon disciple trapped in human form, having lost 99% of his powers upon death xD
Although I can't really see that going down as anything else but a bad joke.. would make me laugh though.

Why don't we just make Irenicus an NPC while we're at it? No, just mod it in. There's no way they would do something as outlandish as bringing Bodhi back to life.

I would actually like to see the story parts of Ascension back (everything but the beefed up figts, including the finale) as a sort of expansion DLC. I'm pretty sure that's out of contract bounds, however.

EDIT: this is relevant because in case you haven't played Ascension, Bodhi plays a small part in it.

@Gemhound A fair point except that i believe in ToB you are essentially dealing with a manifestation of his will, thus why he needs a portion of your, or imoen's soul to manifest himself. if he stall had his own he would just kinda be a ghost whom you could resurrect.

@Khyron Except *a lot* of people seem to lothe hexxat for somereason.

Who's to say that Bodhi's soul doesn't exist somewhere?

At the end of the day, we are talking about a game world where dragons exist, where magic is thrown around like water and where you get to fight Demogorgon (not to mention who Charname actually is). Prove to me that she Can't be brought back.

Personally, she might make a good companion. I don't think there is a "Need" to have her back, but I wouldn't be against it.

Good lord, no. She's not only soul-less, she also got turned to dead ash after I staked her heart, then ripped it out to revitalize (insert romance character here). She's probably burning in some hell like Irenicus is, and that's fine by me.

Hexxat's recieved some flack, but that's not very surprising really.

We all wanted a new thief, and they went and made her evil and undead. A dealbreaker for just about every single Good charname, which really is the majority of the players.
But hey, she's still a decent enough character - Ain't anything wrong with Hexxat as far as I am concerned.
(Even though I would prefer to keep Clara, but that's a different discussion altogether.)

Still.. Bodhi? If she was to return, she'd be slain 9 out of 10 times just for showing her face.. there's just no place for her, imho.
And she really is quite dead and way beyond reach of any mortal. I don't think even a wish spell could bring her back.
Mind you, if you ascend to the throne of bhaal and become a god.. then it's an entirely different ballpark, but the game is kind of very over by then :P

Sarevok has something to offer, story wise; he's the big brother who's been there before. I mean, he knows a bit about the realm and your powers. I just don't see what Bodhi really has to bring to the table.

@Baxyratty He needs a piece of your soul to exist in a solid form since he only has half of his own soul. I've always looked at it like this:
Every Bhaalspawn when they die has half of their soul burned away, and fed into Bhaal's Essence. The half that is left behind on Bhaal's Plane is the non-divine portion of the being's soul. So, essentially, Sarevok is half of his undead self when he asks for a small piece of your soul. Can you even imagine a half ghost, what might come from the resurrection of such a thing, which would be impossible without a vessel to put it into?
Sarevok is a special case, since he was given a piece of a living soul. His soul clings to that and forms itself around the piece of your soul that was alive.

This is also why the CHARNAME and Imoen, when they lose half of their souls each, begin to waste away, since a being that has half of it's soul cannot survive.

I wouldn't mind Bodhi showing up again. But I honestly don't see a need for two recruitable vampires in the same game to appear. And there exist another charismatic NPC which I'd choose above her any day of the week: Schlumpsha the Sewer King! He would make for an magnificient addition to every party imaginable! :D

Killing her more time than necessary would stop make me taking her seriously. I mean, she's not a good villain IMO, there is no need on expending her.

Eh, that's what Ascension is for. :)

Everyone you ever meet should have a cameo. Even enemies you defeat early in ToB deserve an epic comeback. :P
  • elementelement Member Posts: 833
id much rather get ilasera the quick if they went that route simply because as such an undeveloped character there's a lot of potential for something cool there

Bohdi is one of my favourite characters and a cameo would be pretty cool but I wouldnt mind either way. unfortunately the poll doesn't include a 'don't mind' option

I already have to kill one npc on sight. Don't make my adventure any harder than it needs to be.

Why are there 100+n threads about DLC involving some DLC NPC or another?

..Not a rhetoric question btw, genuinely curious. Have devs hinted that if there are to be any DLC ever, it will be just a new NPC?

I'd love to see new content. If said content is just another joinable NPC, it'd feel such waste.
