Welp, I've just now delved a bit into BG2:EE.
I had been playing some other games for quite some time, waiting for BG2:EE to come out.
So, I am only now beginning to get first impressions about it. I have, to date, only played through Irry's dungeon, and out into Athkatla, solved the bridge district murders, watched the play, (I am a skald), and started up against Leihtenen and the slavers.
I have, already, been pleasantly surprised multiple times. I have seen a new dialogue between Minsc and Imoen, and several other new dialogues between old friends. I have only begun to see Neera revealed through cutscenes. (I like her so far - she helps little kids.) I met a crazy woman calling herself "Hexxat". My eyes widened, I humored her with a bit of "oh, umm, yeah, sure, sure...", and backed slowly away.
The graphics and the interface are *beautiful*!
@LiamEsler, and other modders, gave us mod-compatibility, and an install order! I have begun to enjoy EE with my precious Rogue Rebalancing mod, (being a skald, and all), as well as quite a few NPC mods - including my beloved Faren and, a new "special friend", Arath, not to mention Branwen. If I were straight, Branwen would be so totally my type! She, even more than Jaheira.
So, I want to say, just based on barely starting to play with this diamond gift from the devs, *thank you*, so much, from the bottom of my heart.
I can't wait to see where all this goes! We have a shiny new interface, a company of devs who *care* about both our game and us, and *so* much potential here! We have renewed interest in our beloved game, and a huge new educated, mature, collegial, and friendly community, all because of their vision.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, @Dee, @LiamEsler, @AndrewFoley, @PhilipDaigle, @CamDawg, and so many others that I am probably leaving out, who should be included in my gush.
I know it must get exhausting and discouraging sometimes, managing all the negativity that comes and threatens to bury all the positive feedback from your adoring fans, but, please, keep holding the torch of BG, and do not give up, my beloved friends!
Words fail me to express my extreme gratitude.
Thank you.
PS - loving the new red diamond quick looting button.

There might be a slight complain from some people about something small...discussions about controversial new additions, but it still means that BGEE+BG2EE are awesome games that I personally will keep returning to for another 15 years.
But that's really it; I'm pleased with everything else so far. Even if there was nothing else, just being able to play the games in high resolution on my big telly without everything being tiny is enough to make it worthwhile for me.
