Keyboard/Mouse question

Returning to the game after more than ten years, I lack a manual with keyboard commands for my Mac OS X. How do I identify magic items with spells/scrolls?

As I remember the game from my old PC, I used to:
1) Place the magic item in a spellcaster's inventory
2) Double click on the item and select "identify with spell/scroll" in the popup box

This doesn't seem to work on the mac version. What am I doing wrong? What am I supposed to do?

    Right click not double click

    Right click not double click

That. And naturally you need to have the Identify spell memorized or a scroll available in the casting bard/mage/sorcerer's inventory.

Thanks. What do I do if I happen to have a one-button-mouse? Ctrl+click doesnt do anything. New mouse required?

Method 4 may apply in your case, depending on your particular mouse: How to Right Click on a Mac

Also, you might try asking in the Mac OS X section of the forum. There's probably a higher density of people there who know how to do what you are trying to do.
