Dual Class Assassin Problem/Bug? - Please help

CathiusCathius Member Posts: 18
So. I got the magnificent idea that I would want to solo with at level 21 assassin dual classed to mage.
Went quarterstaff and high str to really make those insane x7 backstabs hit like a hammer.
Now I finally made it to level 22 on mage after dual classing. And then what?!?!
May backstab multiplier is x2! What is up with that!
I want to go perma invis with staff of the magi and 1 round stuff! But that isn't happening with x2 multiplier :(
Is this a bug or did I miss something?

Edit: The class says mage/thief - Not Assassin/Mage
Kit description is still for assassin

    This is a known bug:

Keep in mind that you won't be able to backstab with the staff of magi anyway.

Well that's funny, because I have been backstabbing with quarterstaves for 21 levels as an assassin. It does Work. Thieves can be proficient in quarterstaves from the natural class, ergo, they can backstab with it.

I'm pretty sure the thing is that you can only backstab with a weapon that allows pure theives to equip it. Staff of the Magi doesn't. Doesn't matter though because you just hotkey it to two and staff of the ram to one and switch and switch back instantly for the invis.

Just eekeeper in your multiplier and move on.

Last I checked, you can't backwhack with the Staff of the Magi. Not because it is a staff, but because it a staff that a normal thief cannot wield.

Forgive my ignorance, you are perfectly correct. Staff of the Magi does not Work for backstabbing.

As a mage, you can always cast Mislead and backstab as much as you want.

Also, AFAIK, there's no way to alter your backstab multiplier in EEKeeper.

Does that work? I remember invis coming off immediately right after I switch weapons from the staff of magi or unequiping it, even during pause.
