Bg2 and Bg:ToB intertravel

Hi guys, i'm not sure if this has been requested yet or if it is even possible with the amount of things you can't change but would it be possible to make travel in between Bg2 areas and ToB areas available? I had no real qualms with ToB but one of the things that made me feel a bit confined was the inability to travel back into Bg2 territory (except technically watcher's keep).

Would be neat to travel back and forth with extra quests and making use of the areas that didn't have any use but were added in ch6.

I agree in full, and this should be easily doable. You can already use the console to travel back to BG2 areas from ToB, so all that's needed is a combined world map with all zones. From there the next step would be to update dialogues, add new content and things like that. Would definitely be nice with some content, modded or otherwise, that happened during ToB but took place in BG2 areas.

I don't see the point. The rewards gained by Shadows of Amn quests are pittance compared to Throne of Bhaal weapons, money is no longer that useful and the narrative is focused on the Bhaalspawn conflict in the south. Traipsing back to Amn (a week's travel north) to do a little shopping and kill some ruffians in the streets seems very out of place.

Well, the rewards from/urgency of such content could easily be put at a level according to the rest of ToB. More importantly, it would

    a) make ToB feel more connected to BG2 and less like a stand-alone race to the finish
    b) help flesh out a general lack of content toward the end

both of which would be great in my eyes.

But why leave me bereft of the option?

Not to mention it could make some battles quite interesting even if you are slightly overpowered near the end of ToB. Kangaxx for example.

That could give space for a whole new chapter and quests like others said. Excellent BG2EE new content alternative.

But why leave me bereft of the option?

Because is (further) decreases the quality of the narrative while giving nothing particularly useful in return. Also, it requires time to program, implement and test, time which can also be spent on more useful things.
The "But I like it and it doesn't hurt anyone so why not implement it" logic can be said for a thousand other suggestions. They need to pick the ones that A) Are awesome and B) have added value. In my opinion, this suggestion is lacking in the B department so if I were a programmer, I wouldn't want to devote my time to it if it means leaving an idea that has both A and B in the bin.

Of course, ideas and opinions vary, it might happen and I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. I just personally don't see the point of going back to (by then) low level content which you'll completely obliderate just to get pointless rewards. Increasing the rewards to your level makes no sense. If Imnesvale had +4-5 weapons and armour to give out, they wouldn't have a problem with a Shade Lord in the first place.
