Dragon Question

Spoiler alert: there are dragons in BG2.

I'm currently trying to kill Firkraag and in every attempt he's managed to chunk Korgan (by chunk I mean perma death, beyond ressurection). I thought the likelihood of this happening was reduced with a high Constitution. Korgan has a 19 Con so how is this happening?

Chunking is based on how much damage the killing blow does beyond them having 0 hp and dieing. For instance, if he has 2 hp left, and gets hit for 23 damage, that takes him to -23 hp and chunking him. But if he gets hit for five damage that takes him to -3 and he just dies.

I think the rule is that if the hp is below -10 hp, then chunking occurs. This is why frequently jan gets chunked by that acid trap in that child murderer's house (forgot his name).
