Where is Quayle from?

in General Discussion (Spoiler Warning!)
All I can find out is that he was sent by his teacher along the Sword Coast to 'enlighten' people. Being a gnome, are there many/any gnomic settlements along the Sword Coast? I seem to recall there being an island to the west that was full of gnomes but can't remember where it is.

    In my humble opinion, I believe Quayle came straight out of an nightmare that farted too loud. Probably one that invloved either turnips or Brussels sprouts reflexes.
