Stalkers are...awesome!

I've not ever played this class till now and currently my character is level 21. He is an absolute beast! I have to give thanks to 'thespace' for recommending this kit. If you want a stealthy light fighter then I think Stalkers are arguably the best. Single class, tons of proficiency points, awesome THACO, stealth, great APR, backstab, and some very cool spells to boot. The kit is definitely more of a specialist but man I'm amazed how good they are. At first I thought the x4 backstab would feel weaker compared to x5 but I didn't notice any difference especially when paired with critical strike. So for anyone who hasn't played one, I recommended it big time. They seem to be often overlooked. I know that was the case with me. At any rate, thanks for allowing me to go off on a tangent...lol. Oh and Merry Christmas to one and all!

@cLogik, Dual Class is probally the most powerful resource of Baldur's Gate 2, so mostly of the proper dualed classes are stronger than the single sequence of a single class.
For Cleric/Ranger combo, that's even more special cos when a Ranger dual Class to Cleric, he gains druid spells (from the ranger class) in all the divine circle levels, not only on 1° to 4° circle (as rangers normally get), so you got BOTH cleric and druid spells in ALL the divine magic level.
From another point, i can buff the character up to 25 dexterity throught this, send his Thac0 to the lowerst numbers with buffs and i can now use heavy armor with the dualed class.
A Stalker in specific, get the best dual class in my opinion at level 13, as pratically most of the game classes (specially Kensai/Mage). Rangers get the last extra attack per round at level 13 (as fighters), they get the extra mage spells in their list and another proficience point to spend at level 12 also. Clerics evolve fast in level terms, which meant i wouldn't have to wait too long to reach level 14 in the cleric progression (to reactivate the inactive ranger class).
Obs: Rangers can ONLY dual class to cleric by the way, that's why Ranger/Cleric.
...and also because I think the title "stalker" is simply one of the coolest in the game.
But I've never really gotten into backstabbing, and I know that's considered one of the main appeals to playing as a stalker.
Is it worth playing as a stalker even if I'm not so crazy about backstabbing? Or should I force myself to get the hang of backstabbing so I can play as a stalker?
Or you could give the char uai and keeper proficiencies.
If you get past his extremely wooden personality (there is a mod that.... somewhat.... helps) he can be pretty fun to use. I have him in one of my games, and he and Yoshimo do these awesome double backstab combos that make the game so much fun. Goodbye MaeVar.
