Fallen Cleric

So I was messing around to see if a ranger becomes "fallen" after being dual classed to a cleric (which he does not) and noticed that if you dual class a fallen ranger into a cleric, the game says "Fallen Cleric" instead. There seems to be absolutely no disadvantages to this, as you can still cast both cleric and druid (when you surpass your ranger level of course) spells. Does anyone have any insight to this? I haven't found anything online explaining this, all I've learned is that in the vanilla Baldur's Gate a fallen ranger essentially becomes a fighter that can grandmaster and dual class into anything that a fighter can normally do.

    huh... interesting.

I have a fallen archer in BGEE. I wonder if he's able to put another pip in melee weapons now that his archer abilities are gone.
