I'm feeling like a made a bad mistake. A have a group of friends that were really interested in playing a game together. I never got to try multiplayer in the original Baldur's Gate and it always seemed like it could be something pretty great, so I ended up buying five copies of BG:EE during the steam sale.
So now that the Holidays are wrapping up it looks like we are going to get a chance to finally play this together... except, it looks like arranging a game with this many people seems pretty impossible... at least with the game alone.
Pretty much every topic I encounter mentions more then 2 people over the Beamdog servers is just not possible. Incredibly unstable. But it looks like the game has a built in way to use TCP/IP and connect directly to a host... except every topic I've found on it suggest using Hamachi. Really now?
Is it really this bad just to get a game going with a few people?
