Game saves lost?

I just pick Baldur's gate back up after a while and I was play for a few hours but had to go some where so I saved and saved again when I quit, but when I got back on, my game save was gone. My old one was still there but my new one is not. I know it saved because I had just reloaded because two of my people died so I wanted to re try the fight. I went in to the game files and my save weren't there.

ps. When I re loaded to re try the fight I don't remember seeing my old saves there just my new ones, if that helps at all.

    Your problem isn't very clear to me. Are you saying that the quicksave and auto save is gone, or that all but those saves are gone? Or are all your saves gone?

    I have my old saves both hard save and auto save. Then there's the ones I lost when I quit (again both hard and auto). The auto save from earlier today should have at least overwrited my autosave from a long time ago but it didn't for some reason. I don't know how or even if I can get my old saves back, but I would at least like to know what happened so I can keep that from happening again.

    I am now realizing that my game is very glitchy, I just started it back up and this time I got all the videos at the beginning (before it went straight to the main menu) and I had my auto save back but not my hard save. If anyone knows whats going on it would be nice to be able to fix this but I don't really care any more haha.
