can't view non magical scrolls

in BG:EE Bugs (v1.2)
I can't view any of the non spell scrolls, like the letters you get off of any of the assassins which tell you about the bounty on your head. When I click on them, instead of opening them, it just takes them out of my backpack (like I am giving an item to another character). I've tried right clicking and double clicking on them, but that does the same thing.

    What platform are you on? Does right-clicking correctly open the description for any other items?
