Confused - Does this game have DRM or not ?

Hi,
I am interested in buying BGII:EE, but even after searching on these forums and others, it is still unclear to me if this game has DRM or not, and of what kind ?
As a user said it on GoG forums (http://www.gog.com/forum/baldurs_gate_series/baldurs_gate_original_vs_enhanced/page4), there is no mention in the patch notes or on Beamdog's website that the DRM has been removed. So... do you need to activate the game through the internet before you can install it on any machine ? If you have to, it does not matter that one can make backups of the game installer, since the day when Beamdog ceases to support the game, or goes bankrupt, etc., you will no longer be able to play.
Furthermore, I would like to ask whether it is possible to play multiplayer on a local area network ? If yes, do you need to buy one game per player, or is one copy sufficient ?
Thanks, and sorry for raising this topic again

Absolutely no DRM with BG:EE/BGII:EE.
when you buy these games you are able to choose to download the standalone version or the BeamDog version.
In the Standalone version you install, then click on the .EXE, a splash screen appears where you can choose between PLAY and UPDATE (when a patch is available, of course);
In the Beamdog version you have to install the client and to use it for the game installation and update, but it is not needed to start the game itself: when you install the game via BD Client, a desktop shortcut is created but it starts the client first but, if you go to the game path, you can create a shortcut of the game .EXE and BG:EE/BGII:EE starts without opening the client.
You're also allowed to install it on every PC in your possession.
The only limit is in the platform compatibility: if you buy the PC version, you'll be able to install it only on PCs, the Mac version only on Macs and the IPad version only on Ipads of course.
You should be able to play in local LAN IIRC, but every player has to buy a copy.
Multiplayer also does not require multiple copies (although we'd certainly prefer that people buy their own); if you're hosting a six-person LAN party and you own six computers with the game installed on them, they'll play together just fine.
