Destroyed bridge in Wild Forest w/o Neera

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
I'm in the Wild Forest area without having Neera in the party. I met her on entering the area but sent her away. Is there a way to cross the destroyed bridge without having her?

    Just found out myself. "Use" the bridge when having the gravel in inventory, that you can find nearby.

    AFAIK you must have Neera in the party to fix that bridge. I think you must load a previous saved game.

    Now you had to give up that gravel just because you wouldn't bring Neera. WORTH IT?!

    It was the reverse for me - only on my third trip through the wild wood did I have Neera in the party when approaching bridge (before then, it was always my thief character alone scouting the area). Until then, I had no idea that it was possible to "fix" the bridge without using the gravel.
