ToB Neera arena fight

Can you save the gladiators and if so what happens?

I kept losing at least most of my party when trying to save them - but I can easily tensir tranform my prebuffed, stoneskinned high level blade main character into a same level fighter+extra health+spins, etc. and just kill em all one by one, but that way I won't be able to save the other gladiators.

When I do try to save them they also keep turning hostile on me when I start summoning stuff... and even when I just steal their kills :D So can I save'em? If not, should I kill them myself for extra xp?

If they can be saved, how should I do it?

I did it by casting maze on them(my normal way of protecting npcs) I think I saved one or two when the fight finished they didn't say or do anything special they just walked about then disappeared. I suppose its possible one of the group I didn't save might talk but id be surprised I also didn't try pickpocketing them

I know one of them had potions (because he uses them) but I've never seen him drop anything. I'll try pickpocketing and let you know...

EDIT: Ctrl+Y'ed everything evil (and thus made all 3 survive) and as you said they disappear right after the battle. No thievable equippment - however! I just Ctrl+Q'ed recruited them all into my party and their gear is great! All of them have the huge healing potions, the fighter/thief got invisibility, the scald heroism (which he can't use?) and the the fighter/mage got one for magic shielding. The thief got the pickpocketing gloves, and a cape of non-detection. The scald wields a returning throwing axe +2 and has a Stone Giant Belt (set str to 20). and the fighter/mage got the boots that give -5ACvs.Missles and Pale green ion stone (-1 THAC0, +10%HP). Of course I already own one of all of these so it's not as painful to let them go, but all of them have the "can't be removed" message when you try to take it out of their inventory (like Imoen's belt at the very beginning or Edwin's amulet).

The fighter/thief is chaotic evil! The fighter/mage is chaotic neutral (doesn't give a damn either way, and is compassionate when he feels like it). Only the scald is neutral good, it's also the one with the best chance of getting out alive if you help him, cause he's got stone skinn and stuff. :-)
