Barad Ding and Dings the cat

What does the cat do? Shouldn't it bring me mice? Or at least random gems? When and should I return it to Barad? Can I make it eat Boo?

    Cat takes up inventory space and does nothing. My charname ended up lugging him and my cat familiar around for throne of bhaal. She couldn't give the cat back though, she likes them too much. I think if you do return the cat you need to do so

    I might be wrong though.

    I just returned Dings after I rescued the refuge. Still nothing.

    Yeah you don't get anything out of Dings. That's it. He's just a slot waster.

    So... it's sort of like having a real cat, except Dings just stays in your backpack and probably doesn't sit on your spellbook (keyboard) when you're trying to memorize your spells (update your blog).
