Friendly NPC combat shuffle and command lag

This is a major gripe of mine, though I guess it is just a minor quality of life issue. If I order 3 melee characters to attack something, usually 2 of them wall off the 3rd. The 3rd character just either stands there and glitches out, or paces back and forth, or (best cast scenario) laboriously walks around into attack range. This occurs even in open areas, not just enclosed spaces. I would prefer that friendly NPCs are able to instantly push each other around the target so long as it doesn't move them out of range.
The second minor quibble is the stutter that your characters suffer when you give them a movement command. This is most evident when they are already moving and you select a new destination, they stop momentarily. If your squishy mage is being chased then this can often lead to their death. It would also be nice if melee characters respond immediately to new attack orders - currently they continue to face their old target until (I believe) the end of the round before moving. Though this last point is probably a rules issue, but it looks clunky and confusing for newer players.
