Best Party Make-up (classes only)

I'm curious, without preference for this NPC over that NPC, without using names, just the classes and their kits: What do you think is the best party make-up to really maximize your overall effectiveness and enjoyment of the games (BG1 & 2)?

I'd say the party would be (primarily in BG2):
Berserker, ideally dwarf or half-orc: A lot of great weapon choices, axes especially in early BG2 are nice
Ranger/Cleric: Honestly, This should probably be your real flail user right here, they'll also double as your "tank" by mid SoA.
Inquisitor/Blackguard: Primarily BG2 focused here, where mage combat is more likely, and they get some nifty weapons for taking them out. I'd argue that blackguard (and to a lesser extent Cavalier and Undead Hunter) are better than inquisitor simply by virtue of having priest spells, like DuHM which cast at the characters level (i.e. you can get +6 to everything with DuHM). That said, the extremely high level dispel makes Inquisitors worth mentioning by itself.
Fighter/Thief (Or Mage Thief): F/T for backstabs, I hear dual class Kensief is great here, but that's mid to late SoA and ToB. Multi-class gives you the entire saga + warrior HLAs. Mage/Thief also works, but the last couple members are already fairly arcane heavy. (Nod to Cleric/Thief for truly epic backstabs due to DuHM)
Mage/Cleric: Buff and Debuff ***** And I'd argue they should be your main candidate for Robe of Vecna. Why? Simply to reduce the extremely high casting time of all your cleric spells.
Specialist Mage or Bard or Sorcerer(depending on whether you went Fighter Thief or Mage/Thief): This is your bombadier, a walking artillery platform if you will. Bards will do more damage with their spells, commonly staying at least 1 level ahead, while Mages/Sorcs get access to more spells per day, granted with lower damage until throne of bhaal. The question is whether or not bards are going to bring more to the table for you than the damage. That is in the eye of the Beholder there. Skald meshes extremely well with your first 4 characters for singing, while Blade gives you a late game tank by the end of BG1!
If it's a gay party, you can look a helluva lot marrier, first use a white-ish pink foundation for the extra smooth look, pink eyeshadow is a must and for your cute little mouth I'd go with a glossy translucent lipstick with those tiny little sparkles ^_^
Now to the Satan-worshiping party...
Inquisitor: True Sight, Dispel, and Carsomyr
Berserker 9>Mage x2: One wields Long Swords, the other Crom Faeyr
Archer: Machine gun with Tuigan, Firetooth
Ranger/Cleric: Flails and Maces
Fighter/Thief: Katanas, Bastard Swords, Axes, Staves (misc. weapon du jour)
An enjoyable party for me would be one in which the members all have very different roles. It is also more enjoyable for me if you don't have a lot of super heroes along (see above).
Cavalier: I love how they have passive immunities to the most annoying early game spell effects. Quintessential party leader.
Stalker: Love Stalkers as the party scout. I find them easy and very enjoyable to roleplay.
Cleric/Thief: It sounded strange to me before I played one and I had a lot of fun with the C/T. I love the combination of sanctuary and trap finding.
Jester: They are another fun to roleplay class and are capable of fulfilling many roles. Their gameplay changes from moment-to-moment and I like that.
Avenger: I'll be honest, druids aren't my favorite for charname, but it is fun to have all of the divine spells at your disposal and Avengers are my favorite kit.
Wild Mage: Could go Sorceror here also, but Wild Mages keep it interesting!
