Polymorph Other

I can't remember how this spell works..

1. If I polymorph someone, do their items stay when I slay the squirrel? Or are they lost like Disentegrate?
2. If the items stay, then why don't people use the spell more? It is a "instakill" spell as they are pretty much harmless as squirrels.
3. Are most enemies immune? Or do they just have a insane save vs polymorph?

From what I remember, it never really worked that well vs anything

I can't remember, though I think items are lost. But I believe the saving was very easy anyway.

So the combination of loss of items + easy to save against made it nearly useless except for fun / passive aggressively torturing someone.

I remember my brother playing a game in BG2 and he had Jan with bolts of polymorphing or whatever they were called.

Was hilarious, turning all the bystanders into squirrels

I usually use it once every playthrough. After ditching Edwin at the gnoll fortress and meeting him again with his Red Wizard colleagues I don't want to kill him, having the weird feeling that he might prove useful in the future. So I polymorph him, paralyze him, and walk away.

Can anyone tell us how Polymorph Other works in BGEE now? Are the items lost? Does it have a +2 save or not?

The target keeps all the items.

Thanks! That's what I heard too, but pnly with the original version, and the spell description was misleading.
