Is there and official new content in the pipeline?

Or will future development be purely focused on bugfixing and platform compatability?

    there will be at least some new content they have said about an 'adventure y' a number of times.

    whether or not there will actually be any new content patched into the game or if it will simply be in the form of premium dlc of some sort is currently unknown.
