Specialicist mage bonuses/penalites

What's the final consensus on saving throw bonuses / penalties, every source of information I've seen is conflicting :/

Is charm more effective for an enchanter?
Is blind scarier from an illusionist?

    Consensus?
    Specialist mages in BG get a bonus spell slot that can be used to memorize any spell provided it's not from a barred school.
    They get a bonus slot every spell level, a barred school and that's about it, there's no other bonuses/penalties unlike pnp.

    Awesome, I read somewhere that the -1 enemies have to saving throws carried as well, and it just wasn't in the kit description.
    Good to know that's not the case, as it will make choosing a "kit" easier, thanks!

    The other thing about specialist mages is that they have different stat minimum requirements. I think for instance with a diviner you have to have 16 wisdom (on top of any intelligence requirement). But yea like RedWizard said the whole saving throw bonuses/penalties thing was never implemented :)
