Feedback on new NPC's (SPOILERS!)

I would like to give you my feedback on new NPC’s added in BGEE and BG2EE
Spoiler Alert!
Dorn:
Abilities: He is a decent character. Good STR and with his Negative Plane Prot makes him an undead slayer.
Quest: His BGEE quests were good as there was a whole revenge concept. But in BG2EE his quests are a little extreme as in BGEE Dorn could finish his quests on his own but joined you for your power but in BG2EE there is no way he can finish his quests on his own. And his final quest gives him a mediocre that you barely use which causes him to lose his powers. His quests in ToB was bugged and I never got the trigger.
I think the reward for losing his powers should be better then that sword.
Rasaad:
Abilities: He is not so good in BGEE but in BG2EE he is unstoppable.
Quests: His BGEE quests are not bad. But in BG2EE and ToB they are don’t make sense as well as his bad roleplaying. All adventures are Hero’s or Villains in either of his quests he does not become one.
I think he should get some divine intervention and get redeemed.
Neera
Abilities: Wild mage with bad stats.
Quests: I didn’t play her in BGEE but I did in BG2EE. First of all she is not Chaotic Neutral she is more like Neutral Evil as she has no compassion to anyone and does not have the trademarks of being CN which is being Insane. Her quests don’t make sense and defeating a whole order of Red Wizards are ridiculous at LVL 10 .
I don't know what will make her better.
Hexxat:
I will start a game with her in it to see her as well.

I think CN is more supposed to be 'free-spirited without particularly moral compunctions', other CN characters in BG2 are Haer'Dalis and Jan, and I think Neera fits in fairly well with that crowd.

I agree with you on Dorn, though. I understand that they were going for an evil Paladin feel, and I think they captured that well. I actually think his SoA quest chain works well since its all about him getting more and more angry about having to follow Ur-Gothoz's orders. Its kinda ridiculous at the start, though. I haven't done his ToB quest, but it sounded kinda insane.

I completely disagree on Rasaad, however. His SoA quest made complete sense and was all about Rasaad struggling with his faith, it also had some rather awesome RP opportunities, especially in the Temple.

Neera, though I haven't played with her in BG2, fits the CN alignment. CN doesn't mean "insane". Not even chaotic evil is "insane" by default, it's just somewhat common for this alignment and that is still with a rather narrow definition of "insane" in mind.

Rasaad was so boring he didn't even annoy me in BG1, but in BG2, he really picks up on everything. No matter how powerful monks get on higher levels, it's not a class I'm very fond of. I therefore never planned to play with Rasaad beyond his quest, but his story makes up for a lot. It is interesting, it gives many roleplay options and it fits in the scenario better than Neera or Dorn. Mechanically, he's not dead weight like in BG1, so I don't mind his class anymore. And his quest gives a lot good loot that isn't limited to monks or lawful good alignment.
