Dungeons and Dragons White Box

I'm trying to find a copy of the new reprint of the White Box that doesn't cost $200+ on Amazon and Ebay. I'm calling around to local stores and looking online but I'm hitting dead ends. Thought I had hit the jackpot when I found it on BarnesandNoble for $87...only to discover 5 days after I placed my order, "I'm sorry, we are out of stock and there are multiple pending orders. We will ship the item as soon as it becomes available." I called Wizards.com but the CSRep couldn't tell me any info about whether or not they are going to do an additional run of the product...which I kinda doubt they will...but who knows.

Please....someone.....anyone.....help?

@KeapnLaffin5 I think it was free shipping for 5-10 days or $5 for 3-5 day shipping. I ended up getting it from Barnes and Noble but their customer service and shipping kinda sucked, if I had it to do over again I would have ordered it from them.

@Mythrialus I ordered it from Barnes and Noble on the 26th of January and the expected shipping date is the 14th of this month. I chose free shipping but the tax is over $6 which I would not have had to worry about on Amazon but amazon's status on the white box is always "temporarily out of stock". If it is not shipped on the 14th / complications or whatever then I will cancel it and order it from bullmoose. I hope there isn't a tax fee.

@KeaponLaffin5 That was why I cancelled my order with Amazon. If it makes you feel any better B&N did eventually pull through but it did take it 2 weeks when it was supposed to have been 5 days. Good Luck

Well the box is really great! Looking through it I think the thing that surprises me the most is how so many of the spells, concepts, and mythology that is so familiar is already there in the first edition. Vecna, psionics, Time Stop, paladins, monks, the Sword of Kas, and the list just goes on and on! I well admit, some of the information is kinda all over the place and I've seen several references to the earlier CHAINMAIL system for tables and information I'm hoping I don't have to purchase that in order to run an adventure, but all in all the presentation is great, the pages crisp and the dice wonderful! A piece that will enjoy a special place on my bookshelf! Happy 40th Dungeons & Dragons!

@Mythrialus I just read a review on amazon that the box set is made in China. Is this true?

I'm thinking if there is anything I can't find I will just use the tables from my basic D&D edition or the Thac0 table from my advanced edition. Who am I kidding I'll probably change a few things with that to! Lol

@KeaponLaffin5 The back of the box set says something about being manufactured somewhere in Washington state but below that it says 'MADE IN CHINA' so I guess the answer to your question is yes.

@Mythrialus I examined it closely a couple nights ago. The wood is so-so, not the best quality in the world. I would say that the price is unreasonably high. The inner "frame" on the lid was a bit cheaply done. What are your thoughts?
