Dual to Multiclass

KilliKilli Member Posts: 14
Hi all,

I have been playing abit around with EE Keeper to try and create this scenario:
Start out as a fighter (Human) Then dual class.
But I want to dual class him into a mage/cleric.

But no matter how I try changing removes the dual class.
I tried setting the dual class tick-box manually.
Actually dual classing to cleric and get the xp to have both classes active.

But again any editing to the classes seems to "re-activate the inactive class.

So I wonder where does it save the xp for the inactive class so only the two remaining classes gets xp from now on?

I hope someone might have a good idea to make it happen.

    multiclass is two classes

so you want to dual ("latin - duālis, from duo, two") by adding two classes to your already existing single class

that would be three classes in total

    three

    dual

    three

    dual

    ...

    nah i do't think so

Essentially triple class yes, but simply halting the xp gain for the fighter class so I can reach lvl 9 spells in the end and have nice fighting abilities.

    there is no triple class.

    Uhm yes there is...
    Fighter/Mage/Cleric & Fighter/mage/Thief are both viable classes.

yes but that's multiclass, not "triple class" :)

in theory you could multiclass an infinite number of classes - hypothetically paladin/ranger/barbarian/mage/psion is a perfectly coherent P&P homebrew concoction

what you're proposing not only is not supported in the engine but is not coherent as even a pen-and-paper experiment.
how would you graft a multiclass to a single class to make a dual? there are no concievable rules supporting that.

What @bob_veng said. I don't think what you're trying to achieve is engine wise possible.
You can EITHER dual-class (stop progressing in a class to start a new one) OR multi-class (pick several classes simultaneously and permanently that will EQUALLY share experience points).

But if you're really serious, you could emulate all the effects you want.
So you could give your character early access to level 9 spells. Or add Warrior High Level Abilities. I don't know if you can do it all with the Keeper though.

My cheesy workaround for now is simply the triple class and removing the XP Cap.
Might have to boost my XP for the char to keep up though ;)

I'm quite aware that it would be breaking the core rules.
But I enjoy tweaking the rules somewhat within reason.
But in terms of the engine I was thinking there might be a simply way of stopping the XP flow to one of the classes using the Dual class as an example.

    Thx for the input
