My multiclassed characters do not gain HPs correctly at level ups...

Well, before i even ask, i have to say that:
1) I am talking about old Baldur's Gate 1, original and GoG version.
2) I know all multiclass mechanics for HP gain per level up, like looking each class seperately and cutting in half.

Please, help me? I do not get the correct amount of HP? Let me elaborate...

I have made 3 different multiclass characters (for powergaming and going through the game in multiplayer mode).

- Elf Fighter/Thief, which is max level currently. With 17 constiturion, he started at 11 hitpoints. An elf fighter with 17 con, gets 13 hitpoints, so the multiclass fighter level up should give 7 points (6,5 becomes 7, rounded up), whereas an elf thief with 17 (16) con, gets 8 hitpoints, so the multiclass thief level up should give 4 ponts. His max level is 7 fighter 8 thief, which means 6 level ups fighter x 7 hitpoints = 42, 7 level ups thief x 4 hitpoints = 28, plus the 11 hitpoints at beginning, give 81 total. This character worked and progressed exactly as he should, exactly as it was supposed to... The other two gave me trouble...

- Dwarf Fighter/Cleric, which is 4/4 currently. With 19 constitution, he started at 14 hitpoints. A dwarf fighter with 19 con, gets 15 hitpoints, so the multiclass fighter level up should give 8 points (7,5 becomes 8, rounded up), whereas a dwarf cleric with 19 (16) con, gets 10 hotpoints, so the multiclass cleric level up should give 5 points. 8 from fighter and 5 from cleric, should give a total of 13, each and every time he manages to level up both classes together at the same time. Because i have been using Firebead, 2 times both his classes happened to get a level up together at the same time, but during this, he gained 14 total hitpoints instead of the calculated 13 he should, or would. Why did this happen? Could i keep rerolling in fighter level up, so as to get 1 hitpoint more? Did i loose those points permanently?

- Half Elf Fighter/Druid, which is 3/3 currently. With 18 constitution, he started at 13 hitpoints. A 1/2 elf fighter with 18 con, gets 14 hitpoints, so the multiclass fighter level ups should give 7 points, whereas a 1/2 elf druid with 18 (16) con, gets 10 hitpoints, so the multiclass druid level up should give 5 points. 7 from fighter and 5 from druid, should give a total of 12, each and every time he manages to level up both classes together at the same time. Because i have been using Firebead, 1 time both his classes happend to get a level up together at teh same time, but during this, he gained 13 total hitpoints instead of the calculated 12 he should, or would. Why did this happen? Could i keep rerolling in fighter level up, so as to get 1 hitpoint more? Did i loose this point permanently?

Sorry, this is an extremely nerdish question, but i really need to know. Our of curiosity, of couse. And just because i might use those characters in BG2, and/or the EEs later on...

A couple of points to bear in mind - firstly hitpoints don't always round up. The game keeps effectively keeps track of the half hitpoints.

Also multiclasses with fighters gain the full fighter constitution bonus for both classes.

On to your examples (assuming max hitpoint rolls)

    1) Fighters get 10hp/level. Thieves get 6hp/level. Con 17 = 3hp/level.
    At level 1/1 thats 10/2 + 6/2 + 3 = 11hp
    At level 7/8 thats 10/2 * 7 + 6/2 * 8 + 3 * 7.5 = 81.5 hitpoints.
This actually rounds down to 81hp (I think because the thief level is higher so is assigned the rounded down half of the con bonus)

    2) Fighters get 10hp/level. Clerics get 8hp/level. Con 19 = 5hp/level.
    At level 1/1 thats 10/2 + 8/2 + 5 = 14hp
    At level 4/4 thats 10/2 * 4 + 8/2 * 4 + 5 * 4 = 56hp.

    2) Fighters get 10hp/level. Driuds get 8hp/level. Con 18 = 4hp/level.
    At level 1/1 thats 10/2 + 8/2 + 4 = 13hp
    At level 3/3 thats 10/2 * 3 + 8/2 * 3 + 4 * 3 = 39hp.
