Instant death of Main Character

Has anyone had problems with main character getting one hit killed? My main is a lvl 12 Kensai lvl 13 Mage and every so often it gets one hit killed... I thought maybe I was failing death saves but then I got hit by a thug outside the copper coronet and was killed instantly. This happened three times on three separate reloads until I moved the main away and let the rest of the party deal with the thug. The downside stat to my main is that it has a Charisma of 1... every other stat is at 19 or 20.

    If any of your Character's stats, even your Charisma, is drained and drops below 1, your Character dies. So, having a Charisma of 1, your Character is instantly killed by *anything* that drains Charisma.

    Would a random thug in the slums be able to drain charisma? Guess I'll have to find that ring of influence that I sold somewhere...
