Longer Lasting Bard Song

It'd be nice if the Bard's song lasted longer, say 1 round per every 2 levels or something. That way the Bard could sing and inspire the rest of the party, but then be able to engage in some fighting himself before their morale starts to drop again. The way things function now, with the song only lasting for a round, it's not terribly useful, as it functionally means keeping one party member out of the battle entirely for a buff. Besides, it stands to reason that the more experienced the Bard, the better he'll be at evoking long-lasting emotion and inspiration in his listeners, right?

Let our Bards do some fighting and spellslinging in between verses without having the benefit end. It would make them much more attractive, and might even put the Skald on the same level as the Blade.

Once he's able to use the epic verson of bard song I usually have Haer'dalis use the helm (forgotten the name) that allows him to cast simulacrum, his simulacrum then uses defensive spin and bard song. Leaving the real Haer'dalis free to engage in combat (once I switch his helmet out).
