Where is the Defender +5 scimitar

Hi guys. I just came back from the underdark and encountered Drizzt on the way to the teeth pass. However I cant find the +5 scimitar. I looted two scimitars, twinkle and icedeath, which are both +3. Is Defender +5 sill there in BG2EE?

    I guess that it was nerfed or it's just a freaking lie on it's description.

    It's pretty tough to hang on to in BG2 regardless, isn't it?

    Twinkle is the defender. It hits as a +5 weapon but it only gets +3 to damage/thac0 (which was always the case).

    The description was changed to reflect the name given to the sword in D&D lore.

    In PnP you could choose how much of a defender sword's bonus to apply to attack and how much to defense. So Twinkle could be anything from +5 hit and damage +0 AC to +0 hit +5 AC, at the wielders discretion. The BG version simply use mid range values +3/+2.
