Easy Transition to Throne of Bhaal questions

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Shoudl I keep a saved game before Irenicus final battle keeping all my companions expensive equipment in my CHARNAME because they will lose it between games, or they will still have it when I summon them in Throne of Bhaal?

In ToB, do I still can go to my Stronghold? Which in this case is the Playhouse.

    The only place that you can visit in both SoA and ToB is Watcher's Keep.

    You won't lose your items at the end of SoA unless somebody dies, in which case, make sure to pick up their gear before you kill Irenicus.
