SPOILERS sex change belt question

so, hypothetically, if i decided to give my charname a sex change, would he (now a she) be able to romance anomen?

alternatively, if i put it on anomen, would he be available to romance my male charname?

this is all hypothetical, since anomen is a massive douche and i'd never pick him to be in my party obviously

Anomen is great! Not talking about his stats, abilities or power, but solely about his personality. His character really evolves. He starts out as an inexperienced squire who tries to hide his insecurities behind big (often hilarious) words. Insecurities caused by a troubled family life, and also by the pressure he's under as a squire for the Order. And then as the game progresses you can go roughly two ways with him.

Either the righteous but not self-righteous paladin type, who in my opinion is even nobler and kinder than Keldorn (taking into account f.i. that Anomen unlike Keldorn actually shows empathy for Jan's plight in the latter's family quest and that he copes much better with Viconia than Keldorn does.) Fits great in a good-aligned party. Imagine a party of knights upholding all that's good and true, with Keldorn, Mazzy, Anomen, charname as a Cavalier or Undead Hunter, perhaps Isra (NPC mod). Even I - while I'm generally more attracted to the shadier types - can see the appeal. I've long wanted to do this. Add Nalia/Imoen for thieving and arcane magic.

Or the somewhat cynical, and at the same time more laid back and more mature adventurer. CN Anomen gets along with most NPCs quite well, as he's much less uptight. And if you click on him he says: "Hehe, so long as I never have to breathe the same stuffy air as those rusted suits of armor at the Order, well I'm with you," which I love everytime I hear it.

Another interesting option is to include LG Anomen in a more evilish party. But I guess alignment conflicts care almost always interesting, so this doesn't apply specifically to Anomen.

    One of my favourite NPCs.

PS: No idea whether and how the belt affects any romances.

Anomen is awesome and has the best character development in the game. He is a bit of a douche, but that is part of what makes him interesting.

i disagree, because anomen seems VERY judgmental and hypocritical.
the last time he was in my party was about ten years ago, so i might not remember everything correctly.

i sort of get where you're coming from though.

buuuut i'd like an answer to my question

    Apparently it does. https://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/25191/consequences-of-switching-gender

The alternative is to use EEKeeper to change your characters gender and keep your belt slot open for more useful items.
