Hi, possible spoilers ahead...

What are the disadvantages of aligning with Bodhi on chapter 2? Loss of reputation? Angry NPCs? Harder game?

Anything beyond chapter 2? I believe either way she's an enemy on chapter 5, correct?

TIA!

Bodhi promises magical items I believe, just like her competition, but I don't remember getting any from her. Hence I've only gone that path once. Was this a bug in the original, did it require a spesific dialogue tree or has there simply never been any loot to be gotten from her?

Most of the good NPCs will leave. She does not give any magical items but you end up getting more from the Thieves' loot.
It's much easier, the fights and the tasks, but Aran is easier if you have a cleric...

Only one path offers the satisfaction of sticking a knife in Aran Linvail's neck.

I find both their necks quite knife-stickable. Alas one betrays me and the other does not. Plus I do enjoy putting the Mace of Disruption to good use. Splatty splat, undead meat chunks flying everywhere! \o/

MoD should leave dust not meat chunks!

Couldn't they disassemble it or break it apart?

It's funny that you get the mace of disruption early if you side with the undead, than if you choose to fight them.

Why are they keeping the ultimate undead destroying device in their hideout anyway?

    Keep your friends close...

If there was an ultimate weapon that could destroy my race, I'd prefer to keep it nearby away from drunken adventurers wandering the crypts at night.

Question though, how hard is it to disenchant or break an enchanted weapon? Could it be vampires are scared of handling the item or do not know of a way to destroy it and as such prefer to keep it hidden in their lair?

I'm guessing it's all down to the enchanter and the power on the magic imbued in the item right?

Do you sell items cheaper if you have bad charisma/reputation? Thought it was only buying things

Wasn't actually sure as I'm always a goody two shoes. Found this table below however.
    Reputation effect on shop prices
This table shows the effect of reputation and store prices. Somehow, party leaders with high Charisma do have some effect one the prices of the store. See Character Abilities on Charisma.

Reputation Percentage cost of items from base cost
    20 -50%
    19 -40%
    18 -30%
    17 -20%
    16 -15%
    15 -10%
    10-14 Neutral
    9 +10%
    8 +20%
    7 +20%
    6 +30%
    5 +40%
    4 +50%
    3 +100%
2 Store will not sell items.

    ---EDIT---

My bad, this only refers to buying items.

I can confirm that prices are also affected when selling. "Services", like Identify, are affected by reputation too. I've seen it cost as little as 80G actually; this was on "evil" merchants (the fences on the streets of Athkatla) when having a reputation of 9.

I think that those identify just for 80.

So putting my original question from another perspective: any *advantage* of picking Bodhi over Shadow Thieves?

I'm trying to play a "neutral" party if that helps (CHARNAME is a monk, romancing Jaheira)

You get the loot from the thieves guild much earlier (chapter 3 instead of when you get back from the Underdark), and you get the satisfaction of killing them. You don't get ambushed by vampires thanks to Saemon. You can get the Mace of Disruption much earlier.

Uh... if you have the Romantic Encounters mod, you can sleep with Bodhi? Yeah, I got nothing. Both sides are pretty equal.

...And here I was planning to not have my harem playthrough bard side with Bhodi. Well, that just changed.

Gals can get pretty cozy with Aran and Renal in that mod, so I guess it's only fair. :)
