@luskan, there is several reasons for picking sleep : 1- level 1 picks are anyway almost useless. The other choices are not very appealing either : - identify makes you save a few thousands gold over the course of the game. In solo this is completely pointless (i had 20000 gold by the time i killed mulahey) - same for friends, which can anyway be cast from scrolls - protection from evil may be nice but hardly a major pick (and eventually made useless by the staff of the magi)
2- As a solo sorc using darts, you often need more than 1 sleep to go through a group. Taking into account saving throws, I feel it would use up the charges of the wand of sleep quite quickly and i think that recharging items via selling/rebuying is cheesy.
Morgane wakes up in her bed in candlekeep. All this has been a dream.
However, Gorion tells her they need to leave soon which sounds oddly familiar. Maybe the dream was a a glimpse into her future. if so, she will make sure to use that knowledge to avoid the death she faced in the dream...
To make it short i will restart the Morgane run. I will go faster than in the first run (skipping the fedex quests and the exploration of the sword coast). It will be like : 1- basilisks -> level 5, 2- equipment phase (wand of fire, wand of paralysis, greenstone amulet) 3- Durlag tower exterior (battle horror + basiliks) -> level 6, 4- pick the tome of CHA from the gnoll fortress 5- fly through the critical path (mulahey, bandit camp, cloakwood) 6- Minimum questing in BG (Scar quests, Tomes) 7- I will resume the story telling in the catacomb (i don't want to bother you again with the same story)
Just a quick update After waking up from her dream, Morgane left candlekeep with Gorion. Unfortunately, as in the dream, Gorion was killed. Therefore to change the course of destiny Morgane decided to change her course. After killing basilisks with the help of a friendly ghoul (which was eaten by the basilisks before being able to kill all of them), she explored the sword a bit finding, like in her dream, a tome of con and cha and wands of paralysis and fire. She is now level 5, on day 13, having rested twice, and now in nashkel ready to tackle mulahey
