Unusual multi/single player parties

Sometimes I just need a little quite time with no NPC drama so I can power game on a hardcore level. For this reason, I occasionally play though the game with a party of six created from the start. Having no limitations on the type of classes I can use, I have found a few interesting combinations that make for a challenging or surprisingly effective party. Try some of these specialist packages for a unique take on this awesome game that is Baldur's Gate. Starting with 6 characters ensures a slow XP growth but allows you to take on EVERYTHING without hitting the level cap.
1) Fighter/Thief
2) Transmuter
3) Sorcerer
4) Invoker
5) Conjurer
6) Necromancer
(or substitute one specialist mage with a gnome Fighter/Illusionist, half elf Fighter/Mage, or human fighter to dual to mage) This party can actually be done with single player mode due to the abundance of specialist mage NPC
Here is another party I found to be quite efficient
1) Undead Hunter
2) Archer (Long Bow)
3) Archer (Short Bow)
4) Archer (Crossbow)
5) Archer (Crossbow)
6) Mage/Thief
This one is a little weak in the magic dept so if you prefer you can sub out one of the xbow archers for a pure mage and make the mage/thief into a pure thief or keep it the same. The quickness in which you can take out enemies is astounding and with an Undead Hunter taking the forefront, you never have to worry about level drain.
What are some unusual parties you have created?

That being said I am oddly fond of the idea of all one class parties. I'm tempted to make a BP2 crew of all monks, use cheats to super level them, and just see how wonderfully/terribly I do.
...Wait they have no defense against demi-liches.
*Dammit*
5 monks and a mage thief sounds good. The 6th class covers all the big non combat xp. but I would say it is a tough RP since 5/6 members of your party are lawful. 5 monks sounds like one of the only times I would consider using a cleric/thief
