Game will not launch all of a sudden (steam)

I have had game for 2+years now. It always worked without a hitch. I just recently shifted my email account from my old one to a new one. I do not know if that is why this is happening, but since trying to play, that is the only difference.

When I double click Baldurs Gate in Steam.. it double blinks the screen jussst so slightly.. and then nothing else processes.. no errors no messages no background operation. If I double click enough times, it shows the steam loading box, but only if i keep clicking the game repeatedly will it appear, only to leave again.

Try to open the game from your steam folder instead of from steam, open the exe file as an administrator. If you get an error it's probably the sound file that has a problem, you'll be able to download a replacement one from the internet.

My brother had this problem and we were able to fix it like that.
