Serious problem.Help,anyone?

So,I found an old set of Baldur's Gate discs in my house.
Imagine my joy.
So,I play through, having an absolute riot of a time.
Anyways,to be powerful enough to proceed,I need to go to Ulgoth's Beard and get the good stuff.
I try to go there, and the thing says I need to insert disc 6!
The problem here is that it already was inserted.
I checked the settings file to see if the discs were assigned to the proper drive, and they were.
I love this game--please help!

Do a full install and you won't have to swap discs.

Is it possible to do a full install including the Sword Coast?

Yes you can do a full install of both the original game and the expansion.

    Minimum installation
    Recommended installation
Full Installation (Doesn't have to swap discs)

I did that last time, but I must not have done the same for the expansion.
    Will report back.

Actually, if memory serves, there is no option called "Full Install", instead you need to choose "Custom Install" and manually select all components/resources to be copied to the harddrive.

After a lengthy and irritating process of trying unsuccessfully to uninstall and reinstall,I downloaded a software to obliterate all traces of Baldur's Gate, cleaned up the discs, and fully installed all of the above and now it works.
Now to solve the mystery of closing threads.

Moderators can close/delete threads. We don't normally do that unless a there is a reason to do so (e.g. if thread is a duplicate or if it is hopelessly derailed).

You can edit the thread title yourself if you wish and add a "[solved]" to it. Just click on the gear icon on the top right and you'll see your options.
