Imoen's comment at the start of the adventure

Started a new game at bg:ee (could not find time to play bg2 and felt disconnected from my character there) I realised something when Imoen joined the party at the beginning of the new chapter:When we killed a monster for the first time (alousy gibberling, as it turned out to be) she commented 'good on you if you save the day!'

I think this was her happy comment she used back in BGT games when party rep was high, but in bg:ee she always does this comment when the party kills a monster for the very first time. She wants to encourage the player perhaps? Can anyone try and start a new game and confirm this? :

    I've heard her say it without killing anything before. I think its just a minor bug where characters will say their disapproval/approval at much lower/higher reputations.

    Its probably because she has a lack of lines to choose from for that.

    Ho-hum. I try and try again and she always spurts that line exactly when we kill some monster for the first time. Coincidence?

    I wish she had more lines in bg1, though. (I know she was a last minute npc thrown in in the original and yeah I know about the wonderful bg1npc mod that really does her justice in characterisation)

    I think it's just one of her acknowledgement or selection sounds

    It may run on a timer or something, however as long as your reputation corresponds appropriately to the alignment of an NPC, they will cyclically let you know of their approval.

    "I am most pleased with the efforts this party is making, and am proud to be a part of it." - Get Mazzy in your party and keep your reputation at 15+, and you will hear this line more frequently than you'll hear Haer'Dalis refer to people as birds.

    I just got it. Right when I killed dat gibbering. It looks intentional.

    Yay! I knew it :-) it was not there in the original, I think bg:ee added this. But not many people notice, I guess.. ^^'
