Scoring an early Web without attacking Borda!!

Getting Web before Nashkel Mines has always been a problem for me and my good parties. The only script offered in the Borda encounter which leads to battle does not roleplay with Good alignment without a lot of invented backstory.

So I have always made do without until Web is available later in the game. But this most recent play-through I found one in the Fisherman's Village map.

Not sure whether it was a random good luck thing or whether it is always 'nestled' there.

    You can find web and other level 2 spells randomly on some enemies. Borda is most probably evil, or at least his actions would point towards that. Try using detect evil on him?

    You can steal it in Ulgoth Beard as well from the halfling that has the ring of free action.

    @SionIV :as I recall, Borda has some sort of Pro: Magic and I was unable to learn about him.

    Of course my RP scruples are strangely inconsistent as I have no problem at all about making sure I have the correct dialogue choices down pat before engaging Bassilus....or making sure my archers just happen to load up their magic arrows before the Deadly VW-doggies appear in Temple map.

    I seem to have little problem giving my party more knowledge of circumstances and surroundings than strictly legit but toe a fairly strict line when it comes to actions that violate my sense of alignments.

    Example: Looting Beregost?? -absolutely not!! but, Stealing from Nashkel Store...oh, that lovely +1 Large Shield and Imoen so determined to play an important role in the adventure! -that could be arranged but would require RPing in my mind

    He is neutral evil.
