The effect of death on romance and other character interactions

Does death and resurrection of a party member have any effect on dialogues, character interactions, or romances? I remember this being an issue long ago, but I assumed it was fixed. But Jan is completely silent now . Before his death and revival I couldn't get him to shut up.

Didn't realise until it was too late
It shouldn't. Unless your romance got Petrified or Imprisoned (and thus removed from party).
Aerie was so squishy in my playthrough that she died every time somebody throw a Horrid Wilting at my party (until I gave her that uber cloak), but that never disrupted romance. I did have to reload once cos she got Petrified my an Elder Orb.
Removal from the party for any reason will break romances in BG1 (at least with the original four- not sure how it works with the new four). This behavior is changed in TOB, but in BG1, if you lose, say, Jaheira to stone to flesh, your romance with her will break and you'll have to reset it using globals.
For the romances in BG1- I think that's the six from the BG1 project, Gavin, and White (am I missing anyone?)- I think they operate like ToB romances. If one of them gets lost to petrification (imprisonment, thankfully, shouldn't be possible unless you're playing with some crazy mod I don't know of), I believe they'll just restart the romance when you get them back in your party. Don't quote me on that, though.
