Recommendations for interesting playthroughs.

When starting a new game I find myself obsessing over the viability of my character and plan everything in excessive detail. This always results in me getting bored. Either I overthink everything and get exasperated or I plan out my char so well s/he is completely overpowered and becomes boring.

So, what I'm looking from the good (and evil) people on this forum are interesting char ideas. They don't need to be overpowered or well thought out (though I'd rather not have them too gimped), but offer a playthrough which will be unique and enjoyable.

My thanks for any suggestions (unless they're bad, then you can just go straight to hell).

As a general piece of advice, I would suggest you to put a kit on a multiclass character, it makes for really cools, uniques charnames, and they often end up a bit overpowered as well !

I agree with @Gotural, kitting multiclasses (also with NPCs) makes for interesting, unique characters. Some kitted multiclasses may indeed become overpowered, a Fighter/Avenger for example comes to mind. However it depends on what kind of combination you'd pick.

Dualclass is also for the advanced player to create a cool and unique character. While more eifficult to achieve than multis, because they require some planning and xp farming, regardless, Kensai mages are notoriously popular and Kensai/Thieves are among the most feared backstabbers. (Use kai before a backstab for the best chunky results! Also with use any item kensai disadvantages are mostly negated.)

I recently played a Bhaalspawn only game. Me, a gnome sorcerer, Imoen, a gnome illusionist-thief, and Sarevok, a barbarian. It was tough with SCS and aTweaks, but a lot of fun, Thinking of doing something similar but with the addition of a romance with Viconia,

I started a game with a elvish thief/fighter. I'm using very little meta knowledge and no cheese (I am using power word: reload though).

It's a lot more interesting to roleplay the npcs and the main char. I've never been a big fan of Imoen, but she's grown on me with this game. It's nothing like the level of what say Lemernis has done, but it has captivated me a lot more than most other playthroughs I've tried.
