Dual-Classing question?

Is it possible in BG1 Vanilla to dual class from a specialist mage (invoker), into a cleric?

Assuming stats correct and Human.

    It should be yes.

Then it would be possible to dual-class the npc, mordaine, correct?

No. Mordaine is an elf and she has 15 wisdom. You'd need to be human and have 17.

Edit: Woops I guess in vanilla she is a human (kind of odd given the ears). Well you'd still need 17 wisdom.

O.o On the wiki is says she is a human and only 2 wisdom tomes can needed to fix her ^^

Is there any reason why you are picking her? You can just roll your own (which would have better stats) or pick up Dynaheir.

Thanks :D Planning on doing a run involving her and was wondering how good she would be. Especially since I plan on giving her The Gauntlets of Ogre Power XD She would then have such high stats in everything but Cha.

Seems like an odd choice given she is a mage but have fun!

She would then have such high stats in everything but Cha.

Which is important for Clerics. It determines their ability to turn undead.

This isn't the case in BG1/BG2. Only things that are involved in affecting you turning undead are your level, their level, your alignment and your class (if you are a paladin for instance you take a 3 level penalty towards it compared to a cleric).

Yes, you can. At least in the original BG1. There, mage specializations could dual. But i do not remember if they had any restrictions (like some of them being unable to dual).

In the original bg1 you can dual class from a specialised mage. Or you can dual class into a specialised mage, IF you have the sufficient ability scores for that specialisation. Imoen would make a good illusionist, transmuter, conjurer or invoker. (High DEX and CON) heck even an Enchanter, she has 16 cha, too! She can't brcome a necromancer and diviner they need high WIS which she lacks.

In bg:ee you can dual class from a specialised mage, save wild mage:they are not dual-classable IIRC. And sadly you can not dual into a kit, so dualling into a specialised mage is not possible. You can fix it by editing your character via EEkeeper, though.

Also BG2 TweakPack allows Wild Mages to dual. I've just started a game with one - she will dual to a fighter in BG2.

Interesting. A dualled wild mage will be really terrific...or, horrible to behold. She will write all the high lvl spells to her book, but she can never cast them normally, so she will experiment and try them with Reckless Dweomers all the time! I like the concept.
'Here, let me 'try' casting a time stop, I know it is not that difficult...what's the worst that can happen?'
