Has anyone tried Blackguard?

With the recent success of BGEE I think several other companies are trying their own top down view of adventurers being cool and awesome. One such RPG is Blackguard, currently available on steam for half off. A part of me is considering getting it but I'd like to hear any opinions anyone here has who might have tried it. The thing I like best in an RPG is the story and characters, so thats what I'd be focusing on I suppose.
