My five year old computer has done a great job for me, even with the low-grade integrated video card that it has. Recently, I have become interested in playing Warlock 2, and I’ve discovered that my system doesn’t meet the minimum graphics card requirements.
The minimum graphics cards necessary are either nVidia GeForce 8600 GT or ATI Radeon HD 6570…the recommended are nVidia GeForce 550 Ti or ATI Radeon HD 6850. As I’ve browsed on-line, I’ve noticed that many of the graphics cards I looked at use the designation “2.0” or “2.1” in their description. My computer has one open PCI-E x16 slot, with no reference to either “2.0” or “2.1.” I want to get the best possible card for my system without breaking the bank.
Also, I want to add upgrade my RAM from 4GB to 8GB. These are the specs for the RAM that came on my computer: DDR3 SDRAM - non-ECC, 800 MHz, PC3-6400, DIMM 240-pin. (I have two open slots for RAM.) Someone told me that faster MHz RAM would be backward compatible with the 800 MHz that I currently have...I don’t know if that’s accurate or not. As with the graphics card, I want to upgrade my RAM without breaking the bank.
I will appreciate any suggestions or advice.
