Did anyone hear about this?

Apparently back in the 80's this ET video game had a massive number of recalls due to bugs. Also apparently by gaming standards it was atrociously designed. So Atari (the original Atari) dumped truck loads of copies of the game into a landfill.

Anyways a bunch of them have now been uncovered.

I'm not sure which shocked me more, that video game archaeology is now a term, or that the games were so well preserved.

    I lol'd here
Most of the crowd left the landfill before the discovery, turned away by strong winds that kicked up massive clouds of dust mingled with garbage.
    and here
The game designer, Howard Scott Warshaw, says he does not mind his creation being called that. "It may be a horrible game, but 32 years after, you are here, talking to me about it. It's a tremendous honour," that it still generates public discourse.
