baldur's gate not accessible on chapter 5!

hello,
I just managed to kill Davaeorn and reached the chapter 5, I then talked to his assistant and flooded the mine.
The problem is that BG city is still grayed out!

I'm using BG 1.2 on OSX

any help? I'm totally stuck

    You can't immediately travel directly to BG from the world map upon reaching chapter 5. You have to go to the 'Bridge' area (adjacent to the city, to the Southeast), cross the bridge and then exit via the west edge of the map. This should unlock the city.

    you're right, the area to the north of beregost was not visible and I couldn't reach the bridge. Thanks
