Melincamp the talking chicken

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
I have played this game multiple times and never encountered this before. I have beaten Bassilus and after clearing the area, decided to head over and pick up the talking chicken. I killed the wolf first then continued and Melincamp is no where to be found. I looked every everywhere. Any ideas?

    Go directly east as soon as you enter the map from the north, (High Hedge), until you encounter a Wolf. Kill it and head a bit more in the same direction. You should hear him clucking soon enough. Offer to take him to someone who may be able to help.
    Edit: He's pretty close to the top-right corner. Here's a map from Dudleyville.

    And here I thought he was just a singer/song writer.
