Trouble getting Dorn Il Khan.

Hey, I'm trying to get Dorn in my party but I don't know if I have come at it to late...I did a playthrough and got all the way to Chapter 7 before buckling and deciding to buy all the extra content.

So I wandered down to the Friendly Arm and had a chat with Dorn, and then started the obligotory wandering around untill I get ambushed and he offers to join..

But...nothings happening, no bandit ambushes and no Dorn..

Did I wait to late, does it have to be done around the Nashkel period?
