[Request] Higher quality inventory icons

CURRENT STATE OF THINGS:
There are several inventory icons whose looks significantly worsened from Baldur's Gate to Baldur's Gate II. An outstanding example would be axes: while they looked good in Baldur's Gate, in Baldur's Gate II they display several veins for no apparent reason that make them look as though they were cracked or something. Another example would be potions: in Baldur's Gate, most potion flasks looked realsitic and more three-dimensional than their wierd and cartoony Baldur's Gate II counterparts.
All inventory icons introduced with Throne of Bhaal look terribly bad and amateurish. They absolutely do not live up with to quality of the original Baldur's Gate art, nor do they seamlessly fit it.
DESIRED STATE OF THINGS:
Revert back to Baldur's Gate inventory icons wherever it is applicable. Only maintain Baldur's Gate II inventory icons when they look inequivocably better, or where there is no Baldur's Gate counterpart.
Replace all Throne of Bhaal inventory icons with new ones drawn by Nat Jones. I'm sure he could draw better ones in the blink of an eye.
It would be very nice if all inventory icons could be re-rendered, or at least upscaled, to the new high/widescreen resolutions supported by the new GUI. This includes Baldur's Gate II and Throne of Bhaal inventory icons that won't be used, in case modders would want to use them for their modded content (this way, they wouldn't look strikingly worse than the others due to their lower reslution).

But joking aside I agree with you, especially about the axe. The BG2 battleaxe looks awful, although I seem to remember first picking them up from goblins, I imagined they were supposed to be stony, poor quality axes.
On the other hand, he probably saw the existing art in Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II and Throne of Bhaal before accepting the job as Art Director for BG:EE. He should've seen this coming LOL ;-)
The reason for my request is that I see no reason why something that already exists in the game resources should require installing a mod to be addressed. I also dream of the day when I won't have to install several mods to have BG look, sound and behave the way it should.
